1. What can I expect to work on at arcDESIGN?
We believe the intern's experience should be as valuable to them as it is to us. At the start of each internship, we take the time to learn what market, design phase, or other parts of the profession the intern feels will be most beneficial to them. Then, we place them on the appropriate project team or specific project to maximize their time with us.

2. Does arcDESIGN provide housing or relocation assistance?
Although arcDESIGN does not provide paid housing for interns, the right candidate is invaluable to us and we will work with them to ease the burden of relocation and housing on a case-by-case basis. Several universities are located close to Downtown Indianapolis making it easier to find options for summer subleases.

3. Will arcDESIGN offer me training or allow me to attend outside classes?
arcDESIGN prides itself on being an office full of learners. Because our field is constantly progressing and changing, outside trainings and classes are encouraged. We also provide our interns with in-house mentors and advisors to aid them during the internship process.

4. What computer software do I need to know?
Revit, Sketchup, Adobe, and Microsoft

5. How many hours will I be required to work a week?
Our typical work week is forty hours, M-F 8am-5pm, however; arcDESIGN values work life balance and allows flexibility in schedules to accommodate individual’s needs.

6. Is arcDESIGN working remotely or in-person during the COVID-19 pandemic?
During these uncertain times, our firm leadership realizes everyone’s comfort level working in an office differs. Employees who can work remotely are encouraged to do so, although the office remains open as an employee resource. Currently, there are a handful of employees working in the office.

7. What is the dress code?
Business Casual most days, unless we are at Victory Field enjoying one of our many team building events!

8. How many interns does arcDESIGN typically employ?
arcDESIGN typically has 2-5 architectural and/or interior design interns at any given time. We believe having multiple interns creates an enthusiastic atmosphere and offers a fresh perspective to our team.

9. Is there an opportunity for permanent employment after my internship?
Yes, we have found a lot of success hiring students who have previously interned with arcDESIGN. A good number of our full-time employees were former interns or architectural/interior design graduates.
